GNR 1.18 - Easter Eggs

On this episode of GNR, we talk about the various Easter Eggs in Fallout 3. Some are really cool and informative, others...Not so much. We also have poetry, the ramblings of an addict, arguments about space, weird emails sent to us by some guys little brother, and Derek's Ultra Cool Partylicious Groove Town Funtacular Time! So try not too get into too much trouble, as you listen to what is surely the most disjointed and non-sensical episode we have done yet!

GNR 1.17 - The Sixth DLC

Oh boy, are you guys excited? Are you? Really? Good to know!!!

So in this episode we get into the sixth DLC. At least, what we THINK the sixth DLC should be like. This is what the original episode 16 was about. We also get into the lack of Jacob again, pizza places, the tear inducing Forum Input, Ryan's poetry, and of course emails. So try not to soil yourself in anticipation of listening to the greatest episode of GNR ever!

* Warning, may not actually be best episode of Galaxy News Radio ever. Result May Vary.

Easter Eggs

Okay, so a lot of people want us to do an easter egg episode. So if you want it, you'll get it. (This applies for this situation only. No, I will not tatoo your butt or perform karaoke with you. That is out of the question unless we involve money)

So we want a list of ALL the funny/thoughtful/dumb easter eggs/references you can find in Fallout 3. If we find that there are enough good ones, we will make an episode. But this is your job. We do not plan on looking them up. If you find a good one and we end up doing an episode, you'll get a mention. So get to work, and find some good ones.

GNR 1.16 - Bobble heads

Hey everyone, we're back after our....Hiatus...Yeah, let's call it that. We got a new episode for you, where we discuss the fake departure of Kevin, the real departure of Kevin, GPN, Jacob's absurdly long showers, and get to some long awaited emails. And of course, we talk about the oh so important bobble heads. So enjoy what is definitely a return to schedule as GNR starts to get back on track. Now is bobble heads one word or two?

New Episode Next Thursday

So we weren't able to find time this week to record, so you'll have an episode by next Thursday at the latest. Hopefully earlier, but no promises unfourtanetly.

Thank for your support, Ryan

Kevin has quit

Kevin has quit the podcast. No we did not kick him off, he has left on amicable terms. This isn't a joke. We (Sally, Jacob and Ryan) will release a new episode in the next week or two. Now I can't give you a specific time frame simply because I have to talk to Sally and Jacob, but we'll try to record it as fast as we can. Sorry for all we have put you through, new episode will be a long one. Whether we have another host is yet to be determined. And if we think we should, we already have a few candidates (Don Imus)

Alright, so we all know this story

So Kevin is late. Again. For the same episode. For the fourth time. So here is the best I can do for you all. Here is me and Jacob's discussion about how we made the episode. I am sorry, but I hope this holds you guys off for a while I contact Kevin through slightly nefarious means, due to his ignoring me. A.K.A. I told his girlfriend who I don't know about his lack of commitment to the show. :D

P.S. No iTunes post of this, because I don't know how that works.

Show topics

What would you all like to hear us talk about in the next few episodes? All suggestions are welcome, but doesn't mean we'll necessarily listen to them. Remember, conversation topics should be able to have a large discussion. Something like "Are mole rats cute?" won't work (They aren't) because it's a yes or no question. Even if we argue, something like that would take maybe 3 - 5 minutes. We want something that could create multiple answers from each of us, and would give us something to talk about for a while. So any ideas?

GNR 1.14 - Mothership Zeta

Hey everyone. Guess who's back? Swine flu! But seriously, GNR is releasing an actual episode again. This is the one which was recorded right before episode 15, where you not only get to FINALLY hear what we think about Mothership Zeta and that freaky little girl (I thought she was an alien the whole time.), but also have a special guest! So sit back, enjoy, and drink until you blackout or otherwise forget you ever heard it.

It was a joke

We weren't planning to say anything and let it keep going, but due to the fact that everyone seems to feel the need to personally attack us about it. It was a joke. We'll release a real new episode next week.

GNR 1.15 - New GNR

So here it is. After a slight delay, and some staff changes, GNR is back. Stand back as Jacob and I weave you a web of ideas and thoughts about Fallout, and blow your mind with speculation about Fallout: New Vegas. Also, some small quirks may appear here and there with the editing, due to this being my first time. But only something a trained ear would hear.

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Oops

So yeah, we recorded Monday and got everything done. On that same day, Jacob's Audacity crashed right after we stopped recording, before he saved it. So next episode may not be out until Saturday at the most. Yes, it is delayed. No, it is not becasue we are lazy. And yes, it's really that big.

The file size. Jeez, what are you guys talking about?

Changes

Hey guys, it's Ryan.

For a few months now, we have had a problem. That problem is Kevin. He has promised multiple times to get better about his inability to release episodes on time, and that this would be the last time. And he did it again. And again. And now, with episode 13 finally out, I thought we would get back on track. We both agreed to release a few episode one week in a row. However, it seems Kevin has ONCE AGAIN neglected his responsibilities. And I feel it is unfair to not only our audience, but to Jacob and I, that this persists to happen after so many failed promises.

So it is with a heavy heart, and after much discussion with Jacob, that we have removed Kevin from the podcast. He has been with us from the beginning, and was the one to get us all together. But he seems to no longer have time for the podcast, and it cannot go on any longer.

The podcast WILL continue without Kevin's presence and will not change its format. Now Kevin's departure was not exactly mutually accepted, but no matter what he says the podcast has moved on. We are currently searching for replacements and think we may have found one. Or two actually.

I now have to bring up another subject that has plagued us for months. Sally's presence on the podcast. We love Sally, and think she is great and adds a lot. We have made that clear to you all. And while it may seem like negative opinions of Sally have subsided, we are still frequently getting emails about kicking her off. Over the last month especially, these emails have increased, emailers claiming to "no longer listen to your podcast because of that squeaky voiced little girl." So it is with an even heavier heart that Sally has quit the podcast due to listener feedback. We will miss the times we had with her and miss her deeply. But for the interest of the podcast, we have to move on.

For now, the only two hosts will be Jacob and me. Now this may seem a bit...drab, but don't be alarmed. Jacob and I are taking several measures to make sure the podcast continues with a consistent level of not only quality, but also of consistent release. We ask for your support in this rough transition. Also, because editing was Kevin's job, I will be taking over. So wish us luck guys!

From,
Ryan

GNR 1.13 - Side Quests

It's here! It's here! It's final-lully here! That's right! Kevin has finally gotten tortured enough into editing the damn episode. We're super-sorry about delaying for so long, and to make it up to you all we're going to release lots of episodes in the next few weeks. Ed_, be available every Sunday for like a month and we'll contact you on one of them to guest host.
Apologies aside, this episode is about side quests. Our favorites, and how we approached them our first-time through. Ryan also leaves 3/4ths of the way through the episode, leaving Sally and I to fend for ourselves. It's actually a pretty good episode, and we think you'll enjoy it.

We regret to inform you....

Kevin has once again skipped out on his duties as editor and has yet to edit the episode, making it officially 2 days late. This was after he already pledged to not only Ryan (Me), Sally, Jacob, and the listeners that he would not do this again. It is truly a shame Kevin is too busy doing things for other podcasts, i.e. Control Point, to work on his own. So how do we make sure he stops doing this?

Well I'd would like to reach out to the listeners on this one. Please harass Kevin constantly, and I mean constantly, for him to edit the episode every other Wenesday/Thursday. You can do this by means of Twitter, Facebook, or Steam. He may not like it, but if this is the way he is gonna act, not fufilling his duties as Host and Editor, then this is how we will respond.

Also, I regret to inform you that episode 13 will be delayed two weeks, due to me going to Europe for 2 weeks. Sorry guys, I know its a bummer. We are trying to be more consistent with releases, and if you help Kevin understand certain aspects of his job as host, our consistency for release dates may signifigantly improve.

But wait until I come back, when we'll talk about Mothership Zeta!

GNR 1.11 - Point Lookout

It's finally here! The DLC that everyone has been looking for! Also, the podcast! We once again apologize for being late, it was Kevin's fault once again. He's a lazy bum, and doesn't like to edit. The rest of us are slapping him around a bit, and hopefully he'll get into shape. This episode is a doozy, there was lots to talk about, not just the DLC.

Attention all listeners, this is Kevin here. I've gotten people asking me how to make a podcast, so, I made this little mini-episode/ tutorial on how to make a podcast. Bear in mind, you MUST download it off this page, no iTunes.

GNR 1.10 - The Factions

Late episode FTL. This week, we talk about the factions. It's not terribly interesting, but it was all we could come up with. We also discuss a lot of news related things, as well as some random stuff.

GNR 1.09 - Broken Steel

Congratulations! You've successfully circumvented the end of Fallout 3, and are now playing the Broken Steel expansion! In this episode, we talk about Broken Steel, we talk about the new BS Ten-word review contest, and we talk about the Fallout 3 GNR Photo scavenger hunt. This episode is a doozy, so get ready!

GNR 1.08 - Whiskers On Kittens

WHISKERS ON KITTENS! WHISKERS ON KITTENS! In this episode, we talk about the Wasteland Surv--- I MEAN Listener Contributions, The Pitt 10 Word Reviews, the plethora of Fallout 3 news, and other stuff. Also, this episode's quality doesn't TOTALLY SUCK, like last episodes' did. The quality in this episode is good, and very listenable. I promise. Also, WHISKERS ON KITTENS!

GNR 1.07 - The Skills

So skils.....Exciting stuff! WE know we were pumped to go over this again*! But what we really are excited to talk about is the rights to Fallout, a new mod that makes the Wasteland just a bit happier, how Jacob has suddenly developed a personality disorder, and a lot of emails with a lot of spelling errors. But that is okay because you guys rock!

GNR 1.06 - The Pitt

Welcome to THE Pitt, the topic of this episode. In addition to this awesome DLC, we answer a bunch of your e-mails and defend Sally even more to you ruthless band of raider-fans. And as a comment to the fact that I was quiet in a few places, we've been trying out different recording techniques.

GNR 1.05 - The Perks

I'm pretty sure Systems Alliance Commander is the best perk ever. Don't you agree? Well, you have plenty to agree/disagree with, since this episode is the longest podcast (we've) ever done! ALSO. It includes Sally, Ryan, Jacob AND Kevin. The whole team is here, to deliver what is probably totally awesome. So, listen to the perks, and explain why Kevin is right and Ryan is wrong.

GNR 1.04 - Sally Teaser

Wow....what a crazy episode, and I don't mean in a fun way. This episode, we introduce Sally, the new GNR Beta-host. There were many technical dificulties during this episode concerning recording, and the fact that Kevin's editing software kept crashing while he was editing it certainly didn't help. So, maybe you'll enjoy it more than he, and others here, did.

GNR 1.03 - Operation: Anchorage

Ryan is back, and not dead. In this episode, we talk about Operation: Anchorage the DLC. Also, 3 one-minute rants, one 30-second rant and some love for the Chinese Stealth suit by Kevin. Also, we are releasing on Thursdays now, so this episode isn't late, contrary to popular opinion.
Post Script: And here's a link to the Dead Workers Party Network.

GNR 1.02 - The Main Quest

Alright! In this episode, we are talking about the Main Quest, and tips on it and whatnot. Granted, it's a little slow, we won't lie, but only because Ryan wasn't here to drive us. Yeah, he was kidnapped by raiders, and the Brotherhood of Steel is out looking for him. Charon was with Ryan when he last went out, and we haven't gotten a "Charon has died" popup yet, so unless Ryan fired Charon, he should be okay!

GNR 1.01 - The Fallout 3 Mythos

It's finally here! The first episode of Galaxy News Radio, a Fallout 3 podcast. In this episode, we'll be talking about the Fallout 3 Mythos, as in the story. Specifically, Operation: Anchorage, The Vault-Tec Experiment, and.....Harold?
Oh, FYI: Spoiler Alert.
